Consultations with Jane Mattes, LCSW
The decision about whether or not to become a single mother by choice is one of life’s most important ones, and a professional consultation can help to sort out the many complex issues surrounding the initial decision, as well as those that often arise while trying to conceive or adopt, and during the parenting years.
Jane Mattes, L.C.S.W., a NYC psychotherapist and single mother by choice, founded Single Mothers by Choice (SMC) in 1981 after having her son, Eric, in 1980. Jane was a pioneer in the area of single motherhood by choice, and over the past 35 years she has met and consulted with thousands of women who are thinking about, or have chosen, single motherhood.
In addition to overseeing the growth of SMC and maintaining a private practice in psychotherapy, Jane has written the book, Single Mothers by Choice: A Guidebook for Single Women Who Are Considering, or Have Chosen Motherhood, and has co-authored several research papers on donor families.
If you are interested in scheduling an online or in-person consultation with Jane, write and let us know (SMCfirstname.lastname@example.org). We will contact you via email to arrange an appointment time.
